Made it to Antelope Wells Aug 5th.     Then we started riding North. [Alisa has a small meltdown in Lordsburg over the mysterious workings of her new GPS, and then the trip continues. ] We finally start riding our first bit of dirt, and it throws us a loop within the first mile: thin gravel turns into deep gravel (or worse, sand) int eh blink of an eye. Note to selves: pay keen attention at all times!  ...

Here are some pictures from the dual sport ride sponsored by Carson City KTM at the AMA Women & Motorcycling Conference. Thanks, George, for showing us a lovely, if slightly arduous challenging, “all levels” route. I sure got a workout on my 950!                                  ...

I was so happy to see her at the AMA Event (and really impressed with her husband Michael that he took the time to ride with her here.)   So, fast-forward 8 months, and here’s Jasmine’s bike now:     That, my friends,...

Today was the last day of the AMA (American Motorcyclist Association) Women & Motorcycling Conference. I met so many wonderful, passionate, and courageous women here in Carson City, NV, this weekend! I didn’t take too many pictures since I killed my small (portable) camera in the rain on the way down here, but here’s one of my friends Joanne and Jasmine: The Women’s Motorcyclist Foundation sponsored a dual-sport ride, which I led, and it was a blast. Here’s  our...

Of course motorcycles are never very far from my mind, even while I was walking across Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Here’s a clever segway back into my motorcycling life, as well as a few shot of the motorbikes seen along the Way…...

Hórreos

Posted by on Jul 7, 2012 in Camino | 1 comment

Walking the Camino, I passed through some very distinct regions of Spain. The wine regions were distinctive, as was the meseta. In Galicia, the region is known for it’s rain, wonderful seafood, and distinctive accent. I started seeing these granaries, called hórreos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horreo) and was enchanted by them. I hope you enjoy them as much as I...
