Posted by on Sep 18, 2012 in India | Comments Off on A Day with Rain

It’s cold, wet and rainy here in Manali. It rained most of yesterday, too, but cleared up long enough for Buddhi and I to walk down the hill in Old Manali and have dinner without getting too wet. Tandoori chicken and a Banana Lassi. Yum! The droning downpour was terrific for sleeping, and I stayed in bed all cozy for about 11 hours! We were going to head out this morning to attend a local festival so I could...

OMG! I’m in India! I am touring with and riding the highest roads in the world –in the Himalayas! We’ll also be visiting some of the most remote villages and temples along the Tibetan-Indian border, as well as visiting with some nomads if we can find them! I may not have too much access to email and communications, but check my Facebook page for the SPOT messages I send, and you can be sure that I will post...

Motorcycle Ride the Continental Divide (Riding the Divide)-On my own

Posted by on Aug 30, 2012 in Continental Divide Trail, USA | 5 comments

So. Said parts did not arrive when we expected them, which rearranged out timetable, and basically ran us out of time. I left Albuquerque quite sad, and quite alone, but determined to continue riding the Continental Divide. After changing a flat front tire,       I headed out in the afternoon and picked up where we had left off–just north of Grants, NM in the Gilas.       Can you see the storm rolling in above?...
