AMA Women & Motorcycling Conference Pics

Meet Jasmine. I met her at the Horizon’s Unlimited Travelers’ Event in Cambria, CA last year. She’d just ridden 300 miles, her longest day ever, and she said she was so tired she felt like crying. I was so happy to see her at the AMA Event (and really impressed with her husband Michael that he took the time to ride with her here.)   So, fast-forward 8 months, and here’s Jasmine’s bike now:     That, my friends, is a picture of her bike from her last two months of riding! She’s been all over, and is a super trooper. She’s pushed her boundaries all over the place, and for me is a role model on going for your dream and not giving up. She’s also proof that you can be sexy and feminine and still a biker...

AMA Conference is Over

Today was the last day of the AMA (American Motorcyclist Association) Women & Motorcycling Conference. I met so many wonderful, passionate, and courageous women here in Carson City, NV, this weekend! I didn’t take too many pictures since I killed my small (portable) camera in the rain on the way down here, but here’s one of my friends Joanne and Jasmine: The Women’s Motorcyclist Foundation sponsored a dual-sport ride, which I led, and it was a blast. Here’s  our group photo:   More pictures of the conference coming up…   Please follow and like...

Hot Springing Weekend Ride

Posted by on Jun 27, 2012 in Idaho, USA | 1 comment

Edward introduced me to Hot Springs, and I have to say I am sooooooooo glad. We didn’t have that many back East, but here in the West there are lots. We rode out to Stanley, Idaho last weekend, soaked in a really cool hot pot (roadside) along the Salmon River, and then took the scenic (non-paved) road home. Here are some pics from the ride: Please follow and like...

How nice is Idaho?

Posted by on Jun 25, 2012 in Idaho, USA | Comments Off on How nice is Idaho?

Idaho is an amazing place to be in the summertime…it seems that the sunshine is endless.I’ve been back two weeks and haven’t yet seen rain. It’s a dry climate (when we moved into this house I didn’t even buy a clothes dryer! ) Riding is superb, and it would seem almost endless. Between Google Earth, the GPS, and the DeLorme Idaho Guides, you can chart a course almost anywhere via the road less traveled. Oh and the hot springs? There are lots. Check out this one we camped next to last weekend:   Please follow and like...

Beginnings and Endings

Posted by on Mar 15, 2012 in Motorcycle Vagabonding, USA | 5 comments

I’m back in Idaho Falls, having completed a journey that started last October when I rode off to the Horizons Unlimited Meeting in California. What a ride! I got a 5000+ mile road trip, I got to meet up with old friends, I got a winter on New Mexican Prairie, I got to learn how to do more work on my KTM, I got time with horses, I made new friends, and I got physically, mentally and spiritually healthy. Endings. Beginnings. Beginnings. Endings. It feels good to be home. I have new writing opportunities, exciting new projects, and a new business idea (thanks to the perspective of new friends) on to how to combine my passions with my expertise with my love of he motorcycle industry with my making a living. Endings. Beginnings. Beginnings. Endings. Ever been so excited...

Albuquerque to Boulder in one (cold!) shot

Posted by on Mar 12, 2012 in Motorcycle Vagabonding, Roswell NM, USA | Comments Off on Albuquerque to Boulder in one (cold!) shot

My stint ranch-sitting in New Mexico over, last week I rode the 500 (ish) miles from Albuquerque, NM to Boulder, CO in one day. Man! was it cold. I didn’t even stop to take any pictures I was so frozen, but believe me the views were s-p-e-c-t-a-c-u-l-a-r! Snow capped peaks, snow on the side of the road, snow everywhere! As much as I love the mountains, I began to dream anything over 8,000 feet because I knew I would be super-cold and it would take me at least another hour riding  to thaw out. I hope to continue riding on to Idaho this coming week. ~MAG Please follow and like...
